Megan Gay, MSW, LCSW is a New Jersey state licensed psychotherapist (#44SC05745000) with experience providing individual and group therapy to children as young as five through senior citizens, and all ages in between. Megan is a graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and has provided therapy in a variety of treatment settings including schools, homes, and outpatient mental health clinics.

By taking a whole-person approach to health and wellness, Megan treats each person she works with in a holistic way. Integrating the mind, body, and spirit is essential in gaining self awareness, maintaining a sense of safety, and developing a strong sense of identity and direction. Megan utilizes skills from a variety of treatment modalities to facilitate this connection including mindfulness, meditation, grounding, acceptance, skill building, play, and creative arts. With a background in dance, drama, and yoga, Megan understands how changing postural patterns and increasing freedom in movement can release old traumas stored in the body and lead to astounding physical and psychological healing. Megan has a certification of specialization in health and mental health, and has both experienced and witnessed the impact on overall wellness in addressing physical self care, such as improving dietary, sleep, and exercise habits. Because these areas are often among the most difficult to effectively modify, Megan utilizes her training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to help you assess challenges and create a manageable plan to make sustained change.

It is often unexpected when we come to a crossroads in our lives and decide that old patterns of thought and behavior no longer suit us. It is at this critical moment when creating a strong and genuine connection with the right therapist can lead to long-lasting, positive changes. It is Megan’s belief that each person has the wisdom they need to thrive already inside of them. By taking a warm, non-judgmental, collaborative, and creative approach to therapy, she works on tapping into this inner wisdom to facilitate healing and the ability overcome obstacles on the journey towards living a healthier, more fulfilling, and more balanced life.
